Compact Water Source Heat Pumps

Tier 1: SmartSource® Compact
Models WSCH, WSDH, WSCV, WSDV

For space-constrained and budget-conscious projects, the SmartSource Compact is your ideal solution. Now with low-GWP R-32 refrigerant with increased efficiency compared to typical R-454B refrigerant, these compact units offer a cost-effective alternative to larger WSHPs. Perfect for new construction, retrofits, and existing buildings (schools, offices, lodging, condos, retail), SmartSource Compact units are factory-stocked for quick delivery and can be configured for geothermal or boiler tower applications.

Key features include high-efficiency rotary/scroll compressors (with two-stage options for horizontal models for enhanced energy savings and humidity control), optional EC fan motors with 8-position unit level speed control (also customizable over BACnet), and available Smart Dehumidification for superior moisture removal. SmartSource Compact units also feature waterside economizers, designed to further reduce energy use by leveraging cold loop water for cooling.

Tier 2: SmartSource® Plus
Models WSMH, WSNH, WSMV, WSNV

Striking an optimal balance between efficiency and flexibility, the SmartSource Plus series bridges the gap between the space-saving Smartsource Compact and the high-performance Smartsource Premium. Available in both vertical floor-mounted and horizontal ceiling-mounted options (½ to 5 tons), these systems utilize low-GWP R-32 refrigerant and provide quiet, reliable operation for standard or geothermal heating applications.

Designed for highly efficient operation, SmartSource Plus can reduce energy consumption and operating costs, contributing to LEED® points and rebates. Developed with feedback from building owners, engineers, contractors, and service personnel, SmartSource Plus provides maximum flexibility for design, installation, operation, and maintenance. This system is ideal for office buildings, schools, hotels, assisted living facilities, manufacturing plants, and more.

Tier 3: SmartSource® Premium
Models WSSH, WSTH, WSSV, WSTV

For projects demanding industry-leading efficiency, low-noise operation, and superior indoor air quality, the SmartSource Premium series is the perfect solution. Available in capacities from 1/2 to 6 tons, these WSHPs feature exceptionally quiet operation with EC motors standard on all units. Available with low-GWP R-32 refrigerant, SmartSource Premium further enhances efficiency while using less refrigerant than typical R-454B.

Every SmartSource Horizontal water source heat pump system, including the Premium series, is available geothermal-ready from the factory with many features to easily match your application requirements. High EERs far exceeding ASHRAE 90.1 standards make these units ideal for LEED® projects and energy-saving rebate opportunities.
