Energy Analyzer software is a DesignToolTM developed by McQuay to help you determine the system that best meets your efficiency and budget requirements. It helps you to create a building profile and compare many different HVAC systems against that profile. Outputs show how much energy is used by each component in your building. Local energy rates are already in the program to convert this energy use into dollars and cents. It is that easy! Built-in Building FactorsThere are many factors that affect heating and cooling loads, resulting in higher or lower building operating costs. Weather, energy rates and building properties, location, usage and space conditions are many of the factors that are included in Energy Analyzer software. Easy Modeling The algorithms used in Energy Analyzer software were developed based on ASHRAE equations. A basic understanding of ASHRAE fundamentals is all that is required for the operator to produce useful comparisons. Comprehensive System Options Energy Analyzer software includes a comprehensive list of systems that allow you to make effective comparisons resulting in an optimized choice for your building, including:

Useful Output Reports
Energy Analyzer provides two formats of printouts.
- Total building energy use– provides an estimate of the total building energy consumption including HVAC, lighting, domestic hot water and miscellaneous electrical items.
- HVAC energy use – provides an estimate of the HVAC energy use only and is most useful when assessing improvements to HVAC energy performance.
First Cost and Life Cycle Analysis
Energy Analyzer allows you to compare systems on a first cost basis and over the life span of the equipment. The software includes the cost to buy equipment, plus the cost to run and maintain it over its useful life. Outputs include simple payback, Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR).
